exida Certifies Woodward LSOV25 Liquid Fuel Shutoff Valve for Functional Safety

exida, the global leader in functional safety certification for the process industries, has certified Woodward, Inc.’s LSOV25 Liquid Fuel Shutoff Valve for functional safety, ensuring it meets the functional safety requirements for Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2 capability per IEC 61508: 2010.
“Woodward has a strong development process which is necessary to achieve this high level of design quality needed for functional safety,” says Chris O’Brien, exida evaluating assessor. “An extensive certification process that included a Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA) and complete IEC 61508 safety case was completed reaffirming their capabilities.”
