exida Senior Safety Engineer Mike Medoff received one of five ISA Standards & Practices Department Awards for 2016 for his expertise and leadership on the 62443-4-1 standard. The luncheon to honor award winners was held on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 at the Newport Beach, CA Marriott Hotel.
The ISA-62443-4-1 standard defines the development process that should be used to create products that make up the industrial automation and control system. The standard can be applied to both new and existing products, although some parts of the standard can not practically be applied to existing products. In addition, the standard applies to both hardware and software development processes (although the majority of the requirements only apply to software development processes.
